The latest report from Forensic Science Ireland found four teenagers fell ill while smoking a vape containing HHC in November 2023.
The State's forensic science laboratory, based in Celbridge, is warning of a significant public health risk from a new form of legal cannabinoid.
Hexahydrocannabinol or HHC was first spotted in 2022 and is commonly available in vapes or in jelly form.
It remains legal here and produces a similar effect to the more well known chemical THC.
