The number of dogs being 'put to sleep' has grown by 10 per cent according to the Irish Dog Control Statistics.

People are being urged to adopt, not shop, when it comes to getting dogs this Christmas.

The number of dogs being 'put to sleep' has grown by 10 per cent according to the Irish Dog Control Statistics.

Liam Power from Waterford City and County Dog Pound says it's a sad reality that dogs in Irish pounds can be euthanised after five days.
