Some houses in the estate have been boarded up for years
Kildare County Council has officially signed a contract with M. L. Quinn Construction Ltd. to serve as the main contractor for the St. Patrick’s Park Housing Regeneration project in Rathangan.
Some houses in the estate have been boarded up for years
The project, located within 1km of Rathangan, is part of the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage's "Remedial Works Scheme."
The redevelopment will occur over the next two years in multiple phases.
The project involves a comprehensive redevelopment plan, which includes:
- Construction of seven new homes with an A2 BER energy rating.
- Refurbishment of 23 existing houses to achieve a B2 BER energy rating.
- Demolition of 15 houses to enable extensive site development and associated civil and landscaping works.
To enhance amenities for the residents, the development will feature a landscaped public open space with green areas, a community garden, a general play area, and a toddler-specific play zone.
