The consultation on the Draft Primary Curriculum Framework has been re-opened by the National Council for Curriculum Assessment.
The curriculum was last revised 22 years ago.
The consultation process remains open until February, and schools in Kildare have taken part in the development of the draft.
It proposes that the redeveloped curriculum for young children will focus on 5 key learning areas:Language, Mathematics, Science and Technology Education, Wellbeing, Arts Education and Social and Environmental Education .
Derek Grant is Director of the National Council for Curriculum Assessment.
