There is currently no path from Allenwood Cross to the pitch.
At the recent meeting of the Clane-Maynooth MD, local councillors Brendan Wyse and Daragh Fitzpatrick called on Kildare County Council to commence the necessary work to provide a footpath from Allenwood Cross to Allenwood GFC.
They also outlined that money from the Local Property Tax was allocated to deliver this specific project in the village.
In its response, KCC stated that this project requires a new footpath of approximately 800m being constructed at the edge of a public road.
It was also stated that there is "not sufficient available space so land purchase will be essential".
Furthermore, the project will need to go through the appropriate planning approvals prior to construction.
