The issues have been raised at Orchard park in recent weeks
Kildare County Council says it is progressing with works to solve the issues of sheep wandering around an estate near the Curragh.
It comes as the issue has been raised at multiple Kildare/Newbridge MD meetings this year.
KCC confirmed that it met with representatives of the Department of Defence in August to discuss the progression of the Taking in Charge of Orchard Park, together with a number of other Department-owned estates.
The Council added that upon Department completion of collating all relevant records and information, it is intended for further work to be carried out.
This includes any necessary surveys of the estate infrastructure, including underground services and public lighting
Further engagement between the various stakeholders will then be required to address the "range of issues and complexities" associated with the Taking in Charge process.
It said that the potential reinstatement of a livestock grid at the entrance to the estate will be considered as part of those discussions too.
Labour Councillor for Kildare/Newbridge MD Pat Balfe had asked for a commitment to reinstall the a cattle grid and provide appropriate fencing to prevent livestock entering the estate.
Cllr Balfe added that it would be in the interest of residents’ and road safety, as well as the protection of property to do so.
"There's ongoing issues with fouling, gardens being destroyed, it's also an issue for a number of estates in the Curragh as well."
The Council is also working on potential Taking in Charges of McGee Terrace and Saint Barbara's Park in Kildare Town.
Balfe remarked that he had written to various Defence Ministers in recent years, and was pleased to see that work seems to be developing to deal with issues of livestock "wandering off" the Plains.
