Hundreds of people have gathered for the funeral of 29-year-old Ryan Weir Gibbons at St. Brigid's Parish Church in Kildare Town.
The ceremony heard his death was “unnecessary and tragic”.
Family photographs surrounded the coffin, with a large portrait of Ryan placed on top.

A Dublin flag was also presented during the service.
The ceremony heard how Ryan had a "beautiful smile" and that he was "always happy".
Ryan was found unresponsive on Sunday October 26th at approximately 3.15am outside McGee Terrace on the Dublin Road in Kildare Town.
He was taken to Naas General Hospital and passed away on Thursday October 30th as a result of his injuries.
A man arrested as part of the investigation into the fatal assault of Ryan Weir Gibbons was released without without charge on Tuesday, November 4th.
Upon his release, Gardai said investigations are ongoing and that a file will be prepared for the DPP.
