According to the Journal.ie, workers at retail chain Claire’s Accessories have been "laid off without pay” this week due failed plans to save the company.
Multiple staff members were told they will not receive redundancy letters until mid April even though their jobs are gone this week.
There are 14 stores remaining in Ireland with over 100 jobs at the chain here are at risk.
It understood, announcements have been made at a number of the outlets over recent days with staff in Dublin’s Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre told yesterday morning it would close up for good by the evening.
Shops in Blanchardstown and Liffey Valley heard similar in recent days, and there were announcements of closures at the Dundrum, Waterford and Athlone stores.
Fears now surround jobs at other stores in Newbridge, Swords and Limerick.
