Fianna Fail Cllr. on the Celbridge-Leixlip Municipal District, Michael Coleman, has announced that he won't be contesting the local elections this year.
In a statement issued to Kfm, Cllr. Coleman described his time on the Council as "an extraordinary privilege."
Yesterday evening at a convention, Fianna Fail selected David Trost as the candidate to succeed him.
Cllr. Coleman concluded that his "focus will remain on working for and with the people of Celbridge and Ardclough for the duration of the Council term in the same way" that he has done since he started the role.
