Figures Obtained By Kfm Show Record Litter Fines In 2024, But No Data On Illegal Dumping, Says Council

Dog fouling fines have remained minimal, with three issued in 2022, none in 2023, and four in 2024.

Kildare County Council does not have a breakdown of illegal dumping fines available "at this current time", despite issuing a record 268 fines in 2024.

Figures obtained by Kfm reveal that while fines for littering have steadily increased over the past three years, no fines for illegal dumping were issued in 2023.

The council has admitted it does not have separate figures for littering and illegal dumping readily available.

Littering fines have surged from 91 in 2022 to 182 in 2023, and 268 in 2024, suggesting heightened enforcement.
