Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fire at a property in Athy yesterday, understood to be the parochial house.
The fire was brought under control by fire services.
Substantial damage was caused to the building.
No injuries were reported.
Investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, firefighters were called out to deal with a fire on the premises of St Brigid's Cathedral in Kildare Town on Saturday night.
It's understood a nearby shed went on fire, and the Cathedral was not damaged.
No injuries were reported.
Local Fianna Fail Cllr. Suzanne Doyle posted a video of the blaze on her Facebook page.
In her post, she commended the quick response and efforts of the emergency services.
