He was the first Kildare man to be capped for Ireland in 1971
Former Shamrock Rovers, St Pat's and Bohemians soccer player Mick Kearin has died at the age of 82.
Mr. Kearin from Kildare Town, was the first Kildare man to be capped by Ireland when he played against Austria in 1971.
It wasn't until 2019 that another Kildare player lined out for Ireland when Maynooth's Mark Travers made his debut.
He will repose at McWey's Funeral Home in Kildare Town on Tuesday evening with Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning in St Brigid's Church.
He will be laid to rest in St Brigid's Cemetery.
