The move comes after complaints that there were no bins for dog waste on the route.
Four new dog waste disposal stations are being installed along the Athy Southern Distributor Road this week - at the Corran Ard pedestrian entrance, Carlow Road, near Shanrath, and adjacent to the park.
The move comes after complaints that there were no bins for dog waste on the route.
A motion was brought forward earlier this year, and with the support of Athy Tidy Towns and the Municipal District Council, the new stations are due to be in place by the weekend.
Some free bags will be available, but dog owners are advised to continue bringing their own.
The bins are for dog waste only, and people are being asked to bring all other rubbish home.
