Gardai have thanked the public for their assistance.
Following a public appeal, Gardai have located a vehicle which struck a female in her 40s in the Derrymullen area.
The driver of the car, a Mazda 6, failed to remain at the scene.
At 11.15am, on Sunday February 2nd, Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident on the R415 in the Derrymullen area.
A woman was taken by ambulance to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
