Gardaí are now looking at CCTV and speaking to witnesses
Gardaí are renewing their appeal for information following a serious assault on an 83-year-old woman in Kildare Town last week.
Kfm had reported on the incident last week, and now has more information following this morning's Crime Watch segment with Naas Garda JohnJoe O'Connell on the Kildare Today show.
The incident occurred last Tuesday around 6pm, in which the elderly woman was walking through the Lourdesville area of Kildare Town when she was attacked an assailant.
Her handbag was taken, which had in it housekeys and an estimated €150 in cash.
She was knocked to the ground, and suffered large bruising and swelling on the right side of her face.
The victim was treated at Naas General Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing, and gardaí are looking through CCTV and speaking to witnesses in the area.
