A 5 year plan, published in 2018, has delivered just three of 16 specialist treatment hubs offering multidisciplinary teams of clinicians.
In some cases, the treatment hubs are only available to people living in a specific catchment area, which means a significant proportion of Ireland has no specialist eating disorder treatment care.
There are no nationally dedicated specialised adult in-patient public beds for people with eating disorders. Instead
The new government committment has been made by Minister of State at the Dept. of Healthy, Mary Butler.
