257 patients were treated on trolleys at Naas General Hospital this month.

Its a 500% increase on August, 2020, when 56 were admitted to the Kildare facility, and treated on gurneys.

Nationally, 6,367 patients were waiting on trolleys this month.

Nurses are warning that the level of overcrowding at some hospitals is extremely dangerous and out of control.

63 patients were without beds at Cork University Hospital this morning - the highest number since the start of the pandemic.
