Intel Plans To Cut Thousands Of Jobs

It's unclear as of yet if the company's 5,000 employees in Ireland will be affected.

Intel, which has its Irish base in Leixlip, plans to cut thousands of jobs to reduce costs and fund a recovery from declining earnings and market share.

The layoffs could be announced this week.

Intel, which reports its second-quarter earnings on Thursday, has around 110,000 employees.

It's unclear as of yet if the company's 5,000 employees in Ireland will be affected.
