Housing Minister, Darragh O'Brien, responding to Sinn Fein's Eoin O'Broin, says 1,400 virtual inspections were undertaken by councils in Kildare, Dublin and Monaghan last year, as part of a pilot project.
1,900 virtual inspections took place across Ireland in the first part of the year.
