240 claims brought forward in Kildare
Kildare County Council paid €5,536,210 in the past five & a half years, due to personal injury claims.
KCC had 240 claims brought in a population of more than 246,000.
Counties Dublin, Louth, Limerick and Longford have some of the highest rates of public injury claims against local authorities in the country.
The Irish Independent reports councils have paid out close to €150 million in the last five and a half years - relating to trips and falls on footpaths.
Dublin's local authorities have paid out over €66 million between them.
Co Laois & Donegal had the lowest number of claims.
While Cork County and City councils did not provide data to the newspaper.
