More dog friendly spaces such as cafes have been popping up around the country.
PS Coffee Roasters in Clane, Hey Darling in Naas, Ubh Cafe in Newbridge and Paws Friendly in Sallins are few among the many examples of cafe's that are dog friendly in Kildare.
According to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, the law doesn't strictly prohibit companion animals from being in retail food businesses.
However, permission for owners to bring dogs into businesses to dine or shop is at the discretion of the business.
