Kildare Emergency Services Jammed By 11,000 Nuisance Calls As Man Jailed For Sixteen Months

William Greene, from Bective Square, Phibsborough in Dublin, was already under a suspended sentence for providing false information during a hoax 999 call.

A 48-year-old man has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for making over 11,000 nuisance calls to emergency services, blocking emergency telephone lines for nearly 130 hours in 2023.

At times, he made more than 100 calls per hour, causing severe disruptions and jamming emergency lines in Kildare, Laois, and Offaly.
