A Status Orange fire warning is in place.

Kildare Fire Service is warning people to be vigilant about the risk of fire.

A Dept. of Agriculture Status Orange fire warning is in effect in the county, while a Met Eireann Status Yellow high temperature alert is live in Kildare until Friday.

🔥We have issued an Orange Forest Fire Warning arising from weather patterns and expected level of risk, which is expected to peak on Friday.

Rainfall levels before the beginning of the heatwave were low, which means vegitation is very dry.

Kildare's Chief Fire Officer, Ben Woodhouse, has been speaking to Kildare Today.
