A Kildare man is questioning whether he can legally claim ownership of a nearby field he's been using for the past five years.
He says the 0.4-acre plot, located in a cul-de-sac, was abandoned and overgrown when he began using it to park trailers and feed animals.

He’s now asking whether he can claim the land under squatter’s rights.
He said the owner is not known and has not been seen in over 10 years.
Solicitor Sonia McEntee says such claims are possible, but only under strict conditions: the land must be used exclusively, without permission, and without interruption for at least 12 years.
Even sending a letter to the listed owner may weaken the case, as it implies a request rather than a takeover.
McEntee, answering the man, identified as David, said anyone considering such a claim should keep detailed records and seek legal advice.
She also said "use of the land must be continuous and uninterrupted," adding that the uninterrupted element can be difficult to prove.
She was responding to a question he submitted to the Irish Independent.
