The book bags will be available from today and throughout the summer.
Parents of young children in Kildare can now avail of free book bags as part of the national My Little Library initiative.
Aimed at children moving from pre-school to primary school, the initiative invites families to visit their local libraries to collect the book bags and register for membership.
The programme, which will distribute 110,000 free books nationwide in both English and Irish, is designed to help ease the transition to primary school and support early language and literacy development.
The book bags will be available from today and throughout the summer.
They include resources to support parents and children.
