Insurance may cover owners against any damage caused by their pet.

Kildare's pet owners are being urged to consider insuring their pet.

Dependent on the level of cover obtained, policies may indemnity owners against any damage or injury caused by their pet to others.

In the case of missing pets, it can also cover cost of putting up posters or offering a reward if your cat or dog gets lost or stolen.

And, holiday cancellation cover may also cover the cost of cutting short your holiday if your pet falls ill
