Clane resident Barbra Hackett, who is living with stage four cancer and has been part of the choir for three years, said her diagnosis has given her a new perspective and appreciation for life.
A Kildare singer will take to the stage in Dublin next month as part of a choir made up of women who have been impacted by cancer.
Clane resident Barbra Hackett is among 55 members of the Sea of Change Choir, which will perform at the RDS Concert Hall on Wednesday, November 25th, alongside musical theatre performer Rebecca Storm.
Hackett, who is living with stage four cancer and has been part of the choir for three years, said her diagnosis has given her a new perspective and appreciation for life.
The concert will coincide with the UN's International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the beginning of the annual 16-day campaign against gender-based violence.
The Sea of Change Choir previously reached the headlines through Ireland's Got Talent and has since performed at venues including the European Parliament and Áras an Uachtaráin.
A portion of the proceeds from the Dublin concert will go to Safe Ireland.
Gardaí say the vehicle was detected by the Naas Roads Policing Unit at Ballyvoneen, where the speed limit is 120km/h, but the recorded speed was 51km/h above the limit.
The issue has been raised repeatedly in Kildare, with representatives calling for a clearer national approach to the collection and safe disposal of discarded canisters.

The K Club will host the 2027 event from June 30th to July 4th, with tickets for the five-day tournament now on sale after they previously hosted the Irish Open in 2016, 2023, and 2025.
