Kildare TDs Weigh In As Cabinet Debates High-Cost Housing 'Tsar'

The price tag of over 400 thousand euro is causing controversy.

Ministers will discuss who the new Housing 'tsar' will be this afternoon.

There have been heated rows over who will lead the new Housing Activation Office.

The Housing Minister wants it to be NAMA boss Brendan McDonagh.

However his price tag of over 400 thousand euro is causing controversy.

It will be discussed at the Cabinet Housing Committee later.

Speaking on Kildare Today, Kildare North Fianna Fail TD James Lawless said the role will deal with bottlenecks impeding building projects.

However, Kildare North Sinn Fein TD Reada Croinin thinks the Government is trying to set up a "fall guy" to deal possible missed housing targets in the future.
