A contractor can now be engaged to complete the school building project
Kfm understands that the Chair of the Board of Management of the Mercy Convent Primary School in Naas has received a 'letter of intent' from the Department of Education, to progress the new school building.
This will allow the Board to instruct and engage a contractor to complete the school building project, after years of delays.
The shell of the new school has been lying idle for a number of years, with teachers, parents and students recently venting their frustration at public meetings and trips to Leinster House.
A number of public representatives have welcomed this development, saying a collective effort is needed to ensure work begins on the project, as soon as possible.
