The Barrow Blueway project is facing a funding shortfall over almost €3.5m.
Following a tender process for road crossing works and a pedestrian bridge in Rathangan, Kildare County Council identified the shortfall.
The Council has sought additional RRDF funding amounting to €2,577,000 to bridge the financial gap.
