A man in his 40s has died after a single car crash in Co. Laois this morning.
It happened on the Ballacolla to Rathdowney Road at approximately 1am.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
His remains have been taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital.
A passenger in his 30s was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The road has been closed for a technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or camera footage.
