The incident occurred on Saturday night
A man in his 20s has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault on Main Street in Celbridge last Saturday.
Gardai confirmed to Kfm that they attended the scene, where a man in his 60s received serious injuries.
According to sources, the victim of the assault is a well respected figure in the community and it's understood he has undergone surgery in hospital.
The suspect was due to appear before Blanchardstown District court yesterday morning.
