Residents in Monasterevin were left without power yesterday after a planned outage was implemented on one of the coldest days of the year.

Temperatures dipped to minus 8 degrees overnight as a status orange low temperature and ice warning remains in place.

ESB has told Kfm that a planned power outage in Killina in Carbury will be postponed.

Meanwhile, Met Eireann is being accused of 'catastrophising' normal winter weather by issuing continuous weather warnings.
