It comes amid major unrest over aggressive and controversial Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.

Students thinking of travelling to the US on a J1 this year should carefully consider their plans.

That's according to Higher Education Minister and Kildare North TD James Lawless.

Two people have been shot dead in Minneapolis by ICE agents this month.

Minister James Lawless says students should consider all options while there's so much turbulence in the US.
