In total, 38,221 crimes were recorded nationally in 2025 where the suspected offender was on bail at the time.
More than 1,300 crimes were committed last year by people already on bail in the Kildare/Carlow Garda division, placing the area among the most affected outside the Dublin regions, newly released Garda figures show.
The data reveals the scale of repeat offending across the State - and highlights the pressure facing communities in Kildare as thousands of offences continue to be committed by suspects who were meant to be abiding by court-imposed bail conditions.
In total, 38,221 crimes were recorded nationally in 2025 where the suspected offender was on bail at the time.
Outside Dublin, only the Meath/Westmeath division recorded a higher number than Kildare/Carlow.
The Kildare/Carlow total of 1,361 incidents forms part of a wider pattern across the Eastern Region, which recorded 6,379 bail-linked offences last year.
Homicide-related offences were also recorded, with 84 incidents nationally linked to suspects who were on bail.
These include murder, manslaughter, attempted murder and threats to kill or cause serious harm.
Nationally, the offences were dominated by theft and public order incidents, alongside thousands of drug and traffic offences, as well as significant levels of assault, burglary and criminal damage.
