New Framework To Reform Irish Defence Forces Heads To Cabinet

Workforce planning, new command structures and development pathways for serving soldiers are all part of the programme.

Cabinet is expected to approve the publication of a new framework, outlining how the Irish Defence Forces will be reformed.

Workforce planning, new command structures and development pathways for serving soldiers are all part of the programme.

It is understood that Defence Minister Helen McEntee will also update Cabinet on implementing the recommendations from the Commission on the Defence Forces.

These include improving naval and air capabilities and rejuvenating the reserve defence force.
