The funeral mass of 17-year-old Jack Kennedy took place at St Michael’s Church in Athy this morning.
The mother of one of the teenagers killed in the M9 crash just over a week ago has apologised to the family who were seriously injured in the collision.

There was a large Garda presence in and around the town, but the funeral passed off peacefully.
Speaking before the Mass began, Jack’s mother Sarah told mourners that five young boys had “made a bad choice” and paid the “ultimate price”.
During the mass, she also criticised the hurtful and abusive comments made about the five teenagers who social media:
