The hospital is under significant pressure with many patients requiring admission
Some 30 patients are on trolley in Naas General Hospital.
665 admitted patients are waiting for beds today, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.
535 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 130 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
The INMO is requesting that the HSE very clearly advise the public of long delays to be seen in emergency departments across all hospital sites.
The top 5 most overcrowded hospitals in Ireland today include:
1. University Hospital Limerick (106 patients)
2. Cork University Hospital (63 patients)
3. University Hospital Galway (56 patients)
4. St. Vincent’s University Hospital (43 patients)
5. St. James’ Hospital (41 patients)
Naas Hospital is warning that the Emergency Department (ED) continues to be under significant pressure with many patients requiring admission.
Where possible management at Naas General Hospital are asking patients with non-emergency conditions to seek assistance from other parts of the health service such as their local Pharmacist, GP, GP out of hours service, or a local injury unit.
Unfortunately, patients who are presenting at the ED in Naas General Hospital with non-urgent conditions are experiencing very long waiting times to be seen.
Any patient who needs emergency hospital care will be seen and Naas General Hospital would urge such patients not to delay attending the ED.
Do not delay in seeking medical attention if you suspect you are having a heart attack or stroke, please dial 999 or 112 in an emergency.
