Sean Quinn, Allan McCloy and Paul Hamilton all died when their car was blown up close to Lurgan in Co Armagh.
The High Court has heard a 61-year-old Naas man is wanted in the North to be questioned over the murders of three RUC officers over 40 years ago.
It will be alleged Martin McCauley is linked to the detonation of a bomb which killed the officers in Armagh.
The court heard McCauley, with an address in Esmondale, Naas, was arrested yesterday on foot of a warrant.
He’s wanted for questioning in the North over the murders of three RUC officers in October 1982.
Sean Quinn, Allan McCloy and Paul Hamilton all died when their car was blown up close to Lurgan in Co Armagh.
The High Court heard it would be alleged that it was a carefully planned attack which involved a bomb being detonated remotely from a van.
It would be alleged there’s forensic evidence linking Martin McCauley to the detonation site and to one of the two people who detonated the bomb.
His barrister said his client is anchored to this jurisdiction and has indicated his preparedness to be interviewed by the Chief Constable in the North.
Mr McCauley has been remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing and a bail application next week.
