National Homeless Figures Increased By Almost 200 In February

Over 17,300 people were accessing homeless services last month.

Over 17,300 people were accessing homeless services in February.

It represents an increase of almost 200 on the total figure for January.

Figures from the Department of Housing show over 5,400 of them are children, including 344 across the Mid-East.

In Kildare, 224 adults accessed emergency accommodation last month, an increase of 1 person compared to January figures.

Across the Mid-East - Kildare, Meath and Wicklow - a total of 182 families accessed emergency accommodation.
