A meeting was well attended earlier this week to establish the group
A Women’s Shed is being launched in Kilcullen, following a well-attended meeting earlier this week to establish the group, according to Brian Byrne in the Kilcullen Diary.
Over 30 women gathered at Kilcullen Community Centre to take part in the discussion.
During the meeting, there was a strong consensus on the importance of forming such a group — especially for women whose children have grown up or who live alone and are looking to broaden their social connections.
Suggestions shared at the meeting included learning practical skills like basic DIY and carpentry, exploring gardening and biodiversity, yoga and art activities for mental wellness, reviving or learning sewing, flower arranging, crafts, line-dancing, cookery demonstrations, and cultural outings.
