The racecourse issued a statement on social media last night
Punchestown Racecourse has asked the public to stay off the track, hurdles, fences and banks, with the racing festival just around the corner.
In a Facebook post last night, a spokesperson for the Racecourse said that "track crew are working around the clock to prepare for the upcoming festival."
"Unfortunately some members of the public are using the course itself as a play area or to exercise dogs. This is our centre court, our Croke Park pitch, our greenway and has many signs asking people not to enter." the statement continued.
The entire site is scheduled to be closed from Monday, April 14th to Tuesday, May 6th but could be brought forward if necessary.
The Punchestown Festival runs from the 29th of April to the 3rd of May.
