A person receiving a weekly jobseeker’s payment of 232 euro will have their payment nearly halved to 142 euro per week if they fail to participate in employment services.
Unemployed people who refuse to engage with social welfare employment services will face a fine of €90
The measure is contained in the Social Welfare Bill, which has already passed the Dáil and is due before the Seanad.
