Emergency workers and soldiers are calling for fairer pension treatment.

Since 2013, the public sector pension scheme means frontline workers won't be able to access the state pension until 66.

However, many are forced to retire between 55 and 62 due to the nature of their roles - meaning they face years without a supplement.

Conor King, Secretary General of the Representative Association of Commissioned Officers in the Defence Forces, said retention will become a bigger issue.
