The application for the demolition of the existing school building and the construction of a new 2-storey school has been officially filed by St. Farnan's Post Primary School.
Submitted to Kildare County Council on February 19th, the proposed development aims to revamp the educational infrastructure, providing modern facilities and ample space for students and staff.
The proposed construction project, spanning 11,077.3 square meters, includes various facilities such as a four-classroom special education Unit, multipurpose hall, general purpose room, specialist classrooms, library, administration areas, service yards, external stores, covered storage areas for construction studies, toilet and changing facilities, and associated ancillary accommodation.
Additionally, the project encompasses the creation of new site entrances, car parking areas, drop-off zones, a new site boundary, ball courts, playing pitches, and landscaped external areas to enhance the overall school environment.
Located in Curryhills, Prosperous, the proposed development has also undergone Environmental Impact Assessment (EIS) and received necessary permits for waste management and structural integrity.
