Naas General Hospital has introduced visiting restrictions from today due to a high number of flu cases presenting at the hospital.
The hospital says flu is currently circulating widely in the community, prompting the measures to help reduce the spread of infection .
Visiting is now permitted for critical or compassionate reasons only, and must be arranged in advance with the nurse in charge.
Hospital management says the restrictions will be lifted as soon as clinical circumstances allow.
Meanwhile, people with non-emergency conditions are being asked, where possible, to seek care through their GP, local pharmacist, GP out-of-hours service, or an injury unit.
The Naas Hospital Injury Unit is located at Vista Primary Care in Naas, with opening hours available on the HSE website.
