Water Network Upgrades Completed In Maynooth

Uisce Éireann has completed upgrade works on the local water network in Maynooth.

As part of this project, it installed over 650 metres of new water mains and completed 69 public lead service replacements in the Old Greenfield area.

It said it would help to "modernise the local water network and provide more resilient infrastructure for the community".

In some older estates, water connections, typically made of iron or lead, were installed to the rear of properties and are often referred to as backyard service connections.

Due to their age and deterioration, these pipes can be a significant source of leakage.

UÉ said that the replacement of some older connections will improve network performance and reduce the likelihood of bursts and leaks.
