The homeowner says she challenged a group of men acting suspiciously outside her home and took a photograph as they attempted to leave the scene.
Kfm News understands that Gardaí are investigating an assault involving a weapon during an attempted van break-in at a residential area of Sallins, shortly before 7 o’clock on Sunday evening.
The homeowner says she challenged a group of men acting suspiciously outside her home and took a photograph as they attempted to leave the scene.
She alleges she was then attacked by two men - one who got out of the car and threatened her, and another who emerged from the back seat and allegedly assaulted her with a weapon, demanding she delete the image and attempting to knock her phone from her hand.
The suspects fled the scene in a car a short time later.
Gardaí were notified and statements have been taken.
The woman attended hospital for x-rays to her hand and arm and has confirmed no bones were broken.
She said she can't believe how "brazen" the men were, attempting an early evening break-in while carrying a weapon.
