They happened in Leitrim and Cavan.
Two people have died following two separate drowning incidents last night.
A man in his 70s died in County Leitrim while a woman in her 20s died following an incident in County Cavan.
Mairéad Cleary reports:
"Emergency services were called to the scene at Lough Gowna in County Cavan just before 9.30 last night, following reports of a drowning incident
The body of a woman in her late 20s was recovered near the shoreline by Cavan Fire Services and Civil Defence a short time later.
Her body was taken to Navan Hospital for a post mortem examination.
Earlier that evening, at around 9pm in County Leitrim a man died in a snorkelling incident in Lough Allen.
The man, who is in his 70s, was diving at Spencer Harbour, Drunkeeran and failed to return to the surface.
His body was recovered by local emergency services and removed to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital for post mortem examination.
The Coroner has been notified about both incidents. "
