35% Increase In Covid 19 Testing In The Space Of A Week.

The positivity rate for Covid-19 in the community has risen to almost 12 per cent.

The amount of Covid-19 testing has increased by up to 35 per cent in the space of a week.

The five-day moving average of new cases has also risen by 10 per cent over the past seven days, and now stands at 1,736.

455 Covid patients were in hospital last night - 29 fewer than yesterday morning - with 73 in intensive care.

The HSE's national lead for testing and tracing, Niamh O'Beirne, says over 105,000 tests were carried out in the community last week.

The positivity rate for Covid-19 in the community has risen to almost 12 per cent.
